AlterLinux uses a rolling release.
A rolling release is a method of constantly updating a package without the need for a version number.
. ArchLinux, on which AlterLinux is based, also uses this method.
. The rolling release does not require major updates every few years like other operating systems.
. Download and install AlterLinux only once for the first time.
. If you have already installed it, you don't need to download a new image file in order to upgrade.
AlterLinux is distributed under the GPL. Please note that AlterLinux is distributed under the GPL and no compensation will be given for any damages.
When writing to the USB
We recommend Etcher for writing image files to USB flash drives.
. If you have to use other software (especially Rufus), be sure to write in DD mode.
